CVE-2024-12219Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Stored XSS via unverified settings update

Published Dec 17, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026

Cross-site request forgery in Tom Royal Stop Registration Spam 1.23 and earlier allows remote attackers to store script via a forged request. The settings handler accepts srs_captcha_q, srs_captcha_a, and srs_captcha_h POST values without verifying srs_opts_nonce, stores them as options, and renders them without escaping. Exploitation requires a logged-in site administrator to submit the forged form; the stored script then executes on affected WordPress pages.
