Code execution via unchecked DWFX heap copy
Published Dec 17, 2024 · Updated Aug 26, 2025
Heap-based buffer overflow in Autodesk Navisworks 2025 allows remote attackers to execute code by inducing a crafted DWFX file to open. The DWFX parser copies user-supplied data into a fixed-length heap buffer without first validating its length. Exploitation requires the target to visit a malicious page or open a malicious file and permits code execution in the current process, sensitive-data reads, or an application crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
