Unauthenticated database deletion via unchecked AJAX action
Published Jan 7, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in the Popup plugin for WordPress 3.2.6 and earlier allows remote attackers to delete its database data. The upc_delete_db_data AJAX action lacks a capability check and processes unauthenticated requests that truncate the plugin's database tables. No account or user interaction is required; triggering the action removes stored plugin data without reported access to other WordPress data.
