Authenticated content overwrite via unchecked attachment ID
Published Mar 8, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Authorization bypass in FooPlugins FooGallery 2.4.29 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to update arbitrary posts and pages. The foogallery_attachment_modal_save AJAX handler trusts the user-controlled img_id key when selecting content to update without verifying authorization for that post or page. Impact requires the Gallery Creator Role setting below Editor; an account with granted gallery access can then overwrite content outside its authorization.
