Reflected XSS via unescaped utm_keyword output
Published Jan 7, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Reflected XSS in ARS Developer ARS Affiliate Page Plugin 2.0.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to inject scripts via utm_keyword. The plugin reads the utm_keyword request parameter without sufficient sanitization and emits it into generated page output without context-appropriate escaping. Exploitation is unauthenticated but requires a user to follow a crafted link, after which the script runs in that user's browser origin and can access or modify page data.
