Assignment disclosure via public REST API file paths
Published Feb 5, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Sensitive information exposure in LearnDash LMS 4.10.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to download assignments without authentication. The plugin stores assignment files under /wp-content/uploads/assignments/ without access controls, while the default /wp/v2/sfwd-assignment endpoint discloses their prefixed filenames and paths. Any internet visitor can enumerate assignment records and retrieve the underlying documents directly; no account or user interaction is required.
