Stack-data disclosure via oversized checksum comparison

Information disclosure in the rsync daemon 3.3.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to read uninitialized stack data via checksum requests. The hash_search() function writes an 8-byte xxHash64 digest into a larger uncleared sum2 stack buffer, then compares an attacker-chosen s2length. Anonymous read access is sufficient to recover bytes across repeated downloads, including pointers that can defeat ASLR.
