CVE-2024-12078Public exploit

Unauthenticated robot control via shared BLE key

Published Jan 23, 2025 · Updated Feb 12, 2025

Hard-coded cryptographic key use in ECOVACS robots allows physically proximate attackers to control devices through BLE GATT messages. The BLE message handler decrypts GATT payloads with a fleet-wide static AES key, allowing forged commands encrypted with that key to be accepted. BLE must be active and the attacker must be within radio range; accepted messages provide unauthorized control of the robot.
