Unauthenticated user-data exposure via unrestricted REST query
Published Feb 1, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Information exposure in wpWax Directorist 8.0.12 and earlier allows remote attackers to read user records through a public REST endpoint. The Users_Controller collection query omits the has_published_posts constraint, so WP_User_Query returns usernames, email addresses, names, and other user fields without limiting results to authors with published listings. No authentication or user interaction is required; a network request to /wp-json/directorist/v1/users/ discloses account information but does not provide write access.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
