Authenticated database disclosure via unvalidated orderby parameter
Published Dec 2, 2024 · Updated Dec 2, 2024
SQL injection in WP Project Manager's activities REST route allows remote authenticated users to read WordPress database data. The route passes the unvalidated orderby parameter into an SQL query, allowing injected expressions such as a time-delay subquery to alter database execution. Any authenticated WordPress account that can reach the route can trigger the query; published evidence demonstrates a data-read oracle, not data modification or service interruption.
