CVE-2024-11993Network attack vector

Script execution via unneutralized Dispatch name

Published Dec 17, 2024 · Updated Mar 28, 2025

Reflected XSS in Liferay Portal 7.4.0 through 7.4.3.38 and DXP 7.4 GA through update 38 allows remote attackers to run script via a Dispatch name. The Dispatch name field is returned to a web page without neutralizing attacker-controlled script or HTML, causing the browser to interpret the supplied markup. Exploitation requires high-privileged access to set the name and active interaction by another user; successful script runs in that user's browser context.
