Stored script execution via unsanitized PDF upload
Published Jan 28, 2025 · Updated Jan 28, 2025
Stored XSS in Pimcore 11.4.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in viewers' browsers through a malicious PDF. The PDF upload path stores embedded script content without sanitizing it, and Search Document rendering executes that content when the file is viewed. Administrator access is required to upload the PDF, and a victim must view it; resulting script execution can expose or alter browser-session data.
