Reflected XSS via unescaped notice URL
Published Dec 7, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Reflected XSS in the codemstory SimplePay plugin 5.2.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to inject scripts through crafted links. The admin-notice code builds a URL with add_query_arg() and emits it without contextual escaping, allowing query content to enter the rendered page. Exploitation requires a user to follow the crafted link; the injected script then runs in that user's browser under the affected site's origin.
