Stored script execution via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Dec 16, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in Criss Swaim TPG Get Posts 3.6.5 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts via shortcode attributes. The tpg_get_posts shortcode handler fails to sanitize user-supplied attributes and does not escape them before rendering page output. Contributor-level access is required, and the stored script runs whenever a user visits the injected page, enabling browser-context data access or content changes.
