Authenticated resource exhaustion via crafted test report calls
Published Nov 26, 2024 · Updated Nov 26, 2024
Denial of service in affected GitLab CE/EE releases allows remote authenticated users to interrupt service through crafted test_report API calls. The test_report API path applies an inefficient algorithm to attacker-controlled report data, exhausting server resources. A low-privileged account and network access to the API are required; the published impact is limited to reduced availability.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=13.2.4 <17.4.5
- Affected versionversion=17.5 <17.5.3
- Affected versionversion=17.6 <17.6.1
