Stored XSS via unescaped ootb_query attributes
Published Dec 13, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in Out of the Block: OpenStreetMap 2.8.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts via ootb_query. The shortcode handler accepts user-supplied attributes and renders them into page output without sufficient sanitization or context-appropriate escaping. Contributor-level access is required to store the payload; the script runs in a visitor's browser when the crafted page is opened or interacted with.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
