Stored XSS via forged settings update
Published Dec 4, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Pulsating Chat Button 1.4.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to store malicious scripts in plugin settings. The amin_chat_button_settings_page() function accepts settings changes without valid nonce verification, allowing a forged administrator request to save script content. Exploitation requires a site administrator to act on attacker-controlled content and results in persistent script injection into the site.
