Stored XSS via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Jan 11, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in WP SPID Italia 2.9 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through shortcode attributes. The frontend-ui.php shortcode handler inserts user-supplied attribute values into generated markup without adequate sanitization or output escaping. Contributor-level access is sufficient; the stored script runs in browsers that open the affected page and can access data or alter content within that page context.
