Realm service interruption via newline-bearing security headers

Published Jan 14, 2025 · Updated Aug 31, 2026

Denial of service in Keycloak before 26.0.8 allows remote authenticated users to interrupt an affected realm through security headers. Realm import and update paths accept newline characters in browser-security-header names or values, then apply them to an HTTP response that has already been terminated. A remote authenticated user must hold realm-management rights; exploitation interrupts requests and blocks applications and consoles for that realm.
