Memory corruption via WebGL CreateSampler out-of-bounds write
Published Nov 26, 2024 · Updated Jan 6, 2025
Out-of-bounds write in WebGL processing in Mozilla Firefox before 133 allows remote attackers to corrupt memory via crafted web content. The CreateSampler path passes crafted WebGL state to Apple's GPU driver, which writes beyond an allocated buffer. Firefox ESR before 128.5 or 115.18 and Thunderbird before 133, 128.5, or 115.18 are affected only on Apple M-series Macs; Thunderbird mail reading disables scripting, limiting exposure to browser-like contexts.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
