Unauthenticated media upload via missing capability check
Published Mar 7, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in ThemeKraft BuddyForms 2.8.7 and earlier allows remote attackers to upload media through a WordPress site. The buddyforms_upload_handle_dropped_media function processes dropped-media requests without checking whether the caller has upload capability. No login is required; the bounded consequence is an unauthorized media file added through the site, with no demonstrated code execution.
