Stored script execution via unescaped social image URL
Published Jun 20, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in SEOPress 7.9 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through social image URLs. The plugin persists user-supplied social image URL values without sufficient input sanitization and emits them into page markup without adequate output escaping. Contributor-level access permits injection, and the script runs in the browser of anyone who later accesses the affected page.
