Code execution via malformed EAP9 file parsing
Published Jan 30, 2025 · Updated Feb 10, 2025
Memory corruption in AutomationDirect C-more EA9 Programming Software 6.78 allows attackers to execute code by opening a crafted EAP9 file. The EAP9 parser fails to validate user-supplied file data before memory operations, causing corruption within the current process. Execution requires a user to open the file or visit a page that delivers it, and resulting code runs with the current process's privileges.
