Stored XSS via unescaped shortcode class attribute
Published Jan 7, 2025 · Updated Jan 7, 2025
Stored XSS in ctltwp Tabs Shortcode 2.0.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through shortcode attributes. The tab shortcode renders its user-supplied class attribute into page markup without validating or escaping it, so an embedded event handler becomes stored content. Contributor-level access is required to save the shortcode, and the script executes in the browser whenever a visitor opens the affected page or post.
