CVE-2024-11578

Code execution via 3DS importer stack overflow

Published Nov 22, 2024 · Updated Dec 4, 2024

Stack-based buffer overflow in KeyShot Studio before 2024.2 allows context-dependent attackers to execute code through a malicious 3DS file. The luxion_geometry_3ds.exe importer copies attacker-controlled 3DS data into a stack buffer without first validating its length. Exploitation requires a user to open the file or visit a malicious page, and successful code runs in the current process context.
