Code execution via SKP importer buffer overwrite
Published Nov 22, 2024 · Updated Dec 4, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in the SketchUp importer in KeyShot Studio before 2024.2 allows remote attackers to execute code via a malicious SKP file. The luxion_geometry_sketchup.exe importer insufficiently validates SKP data and writes beyond the end of an allocated buffer during parsing. Exploitation requires the target to open the file or visit a page that supplies it, and successful code runs in the current process context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
