Code execution via unchecked DXF buffer read
Published Nov 22, 2024 · Updated Nov 22, 2024
Out-of-bounds reading in IrfanView 4.67 allows remote attackers to execute code by supplying a crafted DXF file for a user to open. The DXF parser does not adequately validate user-controlled data before reading from an allocated buffer, so parsing can access memory beyond the buffer boundary. Exploitation requires the target to visit a malicious page or open a malicious file, and successful code runs in the current process context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
