Code execution via DXF out-of-bounds write
Published Nov 22, 2024 · Updated Nov 22, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in IrfanView 4.67.0.0 allows remote attackers to execute code by inducing a user to open a crafted DXF file. The DXF parser fails to validate user-supplied data before writing it to an allocated buffer, allowing a write past the buffer boundary. Exploitation requires user interaction through a malicious page or file and runs attacker-controlled code in the context of the current process.
