CVE-2024-1155

Local privilege escalation via inherited directory permissions

Published Feb 20, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Incorrect default permissions in NI SystemLink Server 2023 Q3 and FlexLogger 2022 Q3 and earlier allow local users to escalate privileges. The shared Elixir service installation directories inherit access for Users and Authenticated Users instead of restricting access to administrators. A local authenticated account is required, and successful exploitation grants elevated privileges over the Windows host.
