Code execution via unchecked DXF buffer read
Published Nov 22, 2024 · Updated Nov 22, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in IrfanView 4.67 allows remote attackers to execute code by inducing a user to open a crafted DXF file. The DXF parser fails to validate user-supplied data before reading beyond the end of an allocated buffer. Execution requires a user to visit a malicious page or open the file, and code runs in the current process context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
