Code execution via DWG buffer under-read
Published Nov 22, 2024 · Updated Nov 22, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in IrfanView 4.62 64-bit allows context-dependent attackers to execute code via a crafted DWG file. The DWG parser fails to validate user-supplied data before reading, allowing a read before the start of an allocated buffer. Exploitation requires a target to visit a malicious page or open a malicious file, and successful exploitation runs code with the current process's privileges.
