CVE-2024-1149

File manipulation via improperly verified update packages

Published Feb 8, 2024 · Updated May 15, 2025

Improper signature verification in Snow Software Snow Inventory Agent before 7.0.0 allows local users to manipulate update-package files. The update path accepts Snow Update Packages after failing to correctly verify their cryptographic signatures, so altered package contents retain trusted treatment. A local low-privileged user must be able to supply or modify an update package; the published record limits the impact to file manipulation.
