Root code execution via Snowservice command injection
Published Nov 29, 2024 · Updated Mar 18, 2025
OS command injection in Enterprise Security Manager 11.6.10 allows remote attackers to execute commands as root through Snowservice. The internal Snowservice API accepts unauthenticated input and passes it into an operating-system command without neutralizing shell metacharacters. Network access to the API is sufficient; successful exploitation grants root-level control over the ESM appliance, including its data and service operation.
