User-assisted code execution via adjacent DLL loading
Published Dec 9, 2024 · Updated Aug 28, 2025
Untrusted DLL loading in Autodesk Revit 2025 before 2025.4 allows attackers to execute arbitrary code through a malicious project directory. When an RVT file is opened, Revit searches its directory through an untrusted path and loads an attacker-supplied DLL as code in the current process. Exploitation requires user interaction and the malicious DLL to be placed beside the RVT file; successful code runs with the Revit process user's access.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
