Authenticated database disclosure via unescaped shortcode argument
Published Dec 12, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
SQL injection in Guaven Labs SQL Chart Builder 2.3.6 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read database data via crafted shortcode input. The gvn_schart_2 shortcode inserts its user-controlled arg1 attribute into an existing SQL query without sufficient escaping or preparation. Contributor-level access or higher and a chart query that uses arg1 are required; injected SQL can extract data available to the WordPress database account.
