CVE-2024-1140Public exploit

System crash via undersized driver IOCTL buffer

Published Feb 13, 2024 · Updated May 19, 2025

Out-of-bounds read in filmfd.sys in Filseclab Twister Antivirus 8.17 allows local users to crash Windows through a crafted IOCTL. The 0x801120B8 handler accepts a NULL input and undersized user-controlled output buffer, then reads 0x420 bytes past that buffer. Low-privileged local access is sufficient; an invalid adjacent address causes a system crash, while controlled adjacent allocations can expose memory.
