Authenticated arbitrary file deletion via path traversal
Published Dec 4, 2024 · Updated Dec 4, 2024
Path traversal in OTP reset in Synology Router Manager before 1.3.1-9346-9 allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary files. The OTP reset handler fails to confine a supplied pathname to its intended directory before performing a deletion; Synology has not disclosed the parameter or request format. A valid SRM account is required, and the published impact is limited to file deletion rather than file reading or code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
