Unauthenticated code execution via concatstrings type confusion
Published Feb 13, 2025 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Type confusion in the PostScript interpreter in Lexmark printer firmware allows remote attackers to execute code as an unprivileged user. The concatstrings method fails to validate user-supplied data before using a resource as an incompatible type, creating the type-confusion condition. No authentication or user interaction is required; ZDI reports standalone information disclosure and code execution when the flaw is chained with other vulnerabilities.
