CVE-2024-11308

Plaintext recovery via hard-coded encryption key

Published Nov 18, 2024 · Updated Nov 18, 2024

Cryptographic failure in TRCORE DVC File Encryption 6.0 through 6.3 allows local users to recover plaintext from encrypted files. The file-encryption routine applies the same embedded cryptographic key to protected files instead of using secret, changeable key material. Access to an encrypted file and the embedded key is sufficient to bypass confidentiality controls and restore its original content.
