Subscriber-level record-status modification via unchecked set_read
Published Feb 1, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in Basix NEX-Forms 8.5.6 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to mark form-submission records as read. The set_read() function changes the stored read state for a requested record without verifying that the caller has the required capability. Subscriber-level WordPress access is sufficient; the bounded effect is an integrity change to submission metadata, not disclosure or deletion.
