Unauthenticated restricted-post disclosure via core search
Published Dec 6, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Information exposure in WP Private Content Plus 3.6.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to read role-restricted posts through WordPress search. The plugin's search-query handling fails to exclude posts whose access rules require a higher-level role, so the core search response returns restricted content. The request needs no account or user interaction, and disclosure is limited to content discoverable with attacker-chosen search terms.
