Stored XSS via unescaped submit button label
Published Mar 25, 2025 · Updated Mar 25, 2025
Stored XSS in Pirate Forms before 2.6.0 allows remote authenticated users with administrator access to execute scripts via form settings. The plugin stores the Submit button label without sanitizing it and renders the saved value in a public form without escaping. Administrator access is required, including on multisite installations where unfiltered_html is disabled, and viewing a page containing the form triggers the script.
