Incorrect record processing via uncleared trailing input
Published Nov 15, 2024 · Updated Nov 19, 2024
Input-validation failure in SourceCodester Student Record Management System 1.0 allows local users to corrupt student-record input. The Number of Students menu reads an integer with cin >> n but leaves trailing non-integer characters in the input buffer, so the next field consumes that residue. A local user who enters a mixed value such as 1qwe can skip the intended next prompt and feed residual characters into subsequent record processing.
