Reflected XSS via Mastodon share parameter
Published Nov 30, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Reflected XSS in Heateor Support Sassy Social Share 3.3.69 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute script via a crafted URL. The mastodon_share_amp function URL-decodes heateor_mastodon_share and interpolates it into an inline JavaScript assignment with inadequate escaping. Exploitation requires an AMP Mastodon-share request and user interaction with the crafted link; injected script runs in the site's browser origin.
