Authenticated refunds and cancellations via unchecked AJAX handlers
Published Dec 10, 2024 · Updated Dec 10, 2024
Missing authorization in WPForms 1.8.4 through 1.9.2.1 allows remote authenticated users to refund payments and cancel subscriptions. The Stripe payment AJAX handlers accept a nonce available to any authenticated account, then invoke refund and cancellation operations without checking a WordPress capability. Subscriber-level access and a configured Stripe payment or subscription are required, and exploitation can reverse payments or terminate recurring billing.
