Stored script execution via unescaped provider alias
Published Nov 28, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in ReviewX Team EmbedPress 4.1.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through provider_name. Shortcode::parseContent derives a provider alias from untrusted oEmbed provider_name data and substitutes it into an HTML template without sufficient sanitization or output escaping. Contributor-level access is required to save the payload, and the script runs when another user opens the affected page.
