Account-lock bypass via application-password authentication
Published Nov 21, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Authentication bypass in babaTechs Lock User Account 1.0.5 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to retain API access. The plugin's account-lock enforcement does not reject a valid WordPress application password when REST or XML-RPC authentication runs. Exploitation requires an already-issued application password for a locked account and retains only that account's existing API privileges.
