Unauthenticated account takeover via brute-forceable OTP
Published Dec 6, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Authentication bypass in WP-EXPERTS.IN Login with OTP 1.4.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to access any existing WordPress account. The OTP generator creates a six-digit numeric code, while the verification flow enforces neither an attempt limit nor an expiration period. Knowledge of an account email address is sufficient to brute-force its code remotely, including for an administrator account.
