Authenticated service crash via uncaught conversation parsing
Published Mar 20, 2025 · Updated Mar 20, 2025
Uncaught exception in LibreChat before 0.7.6 allows remote authenticated users to crash the server with malformed conversation data. The buildEndpointOption middleware passes the request body to parseCompactConvo without catching parsing errors, so a thrown exception terminates the server. A valid JWT is required, but deployments with open registration let attackers create an account and interrupt the service for all users.
