Resolution-advisory denial via forged ground-station request
Published Jan 22, 2025 · Updated Feb 12, 2025
External configuration control in TCAS II Collision Avoidance Systems 7.1 allows physically proximate attackers to disable resolution advisories. A forged ground-station Comm-A Identity Request sets Sensitivity Level Control to its lowest setting, which disables the Resolution Advisory function. The attack requires a transponder using MOPS earlier than RTCA DO-181F and specific lab-demonstrated conditions, and it interrupts collision-avoidance guidance rather than the entire aircraft system.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
